This offering honors the ancient cross-cultural tradition of the First Forty Days, where the first six weeks after birth is devoted to deep rest. Each one of the postnatal days symbolizes each one of the forty prenatal weeks. This practice is known as Zuo Yue Zi (Sitting the Moon), in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This offering includes:

-postpartum doula visits at regular intervals for six weeks. visits are roughly three hours.

-one postpartum planning session at your home around 36-weeks.

-24/7 on-call support via phone, text, email, voicenote from 36 weeks-6 weeks postpartum.

At each visit, I will support you in the ways you need. Every family is unique and it really is an art to best support each family on each visit. I will always bring an organic, homemade lactation snack and something to hydrate you. We can go over diet recommendations that will help nourish and support your body during healing. If you are breastfeeding, we can also discuss a diet that will support milk production and baby digestion. Other offerings include: womb massage, belly binding, reiki, sitz baths, foot baths, basic newborn care, babywearing, guidance on healing post-birth, emotional support, light housekeeping and daily planning. I can provide referrals to my extensive network of practitioners if you’re in need of more care. 

I believe that when a mother is balanced, she can then provide for her family. My services are unique in that many postpartum doulas help with baby care, however, my focus is on healing the mother. If any questions arise or the family wants advice on a specific topic, I am, of course, available.
